2002년 세계모발이식학회(ISHRS)에 비절개 방식의 모발이식을 가장 먼저 소개하였고, 2010년 세계모발이식이식학회와 대한성형외과학회(KPRS)에서 두피문신(SMP)에 대해 소개해서 대중화에 앞장서 왔습니다.
이 두가지 방법을 결합해서 탈모 치료에 적용하는 방법에 대해 몇 번 발표했던 적이 있는데, 이번에 국제 성형외과 학회지(PRS; Plastic Reconstructive Surgery)에 이를 정리한 내용이 논문으로 출간되었습니다.
민머리 스타일에서는 모발이식 없이 단독으로 두피문신만 시행해도 좋은 효과를 기대해볼 수 있습니다.
모발이식으로 부족함을 느낄 시 두피문신을 병행해서 비어보이는 부분을 줄이고 더 풍성한 느낌을 기대할 수 있습니다.
여성 탈모, 확산성 탈모 등 일반적인 모발이식의 좋은 적응증이 아닌 사람들에서도, 두피문신 단독 혹은 두피문신과 모발이식의 병합법으로 좀 더 좋은 결과를 기대할 수 있게 되었습니다.
절개법 모발이식 후 흉터가 커서 뒷머리가 비쳐보이는 것을 줄이기 위해 SMP(두피문신)을 시행해볼 수 있습니다. 비쳐보이는 증상이 개선될 수 있습니다.
비절개 모발이식 후 역시 비쳐보이거나, 흉터가 눈에 띄어 보일 시 두피문신을 이 부분에 시행하면 좀 더 자연스럽습니다.
