Solve the problem of parietal hair loss,’black’ with SMP scalp tattoo

[Seoul = Newsis] Reporter Min Ki-hong = Recently, even if the head was permed due to hair loss on the head, the head was clearly visible, and SMP (scalp tattoo) is attracting attention to women who were uncomfortable using heukchae as a supplement.

Heukchae is dyed with small pieces of natural pulp, and the pulp itself is not a big problem for the scalp, but what kind of dye is used can be a problem, so it is necessary to carefully check the composition of each product.

If a general chemical dye is used, it may cause allergic inflammation on the scalp in some people, and if the pulp piece is too fine, it is difficult to completely wash it off, and frequent use can put a burden on the scalp.

In addition to heukchae, there is a semi-permanent pigment therapy as a solution for those suffering from hair loss on the head. In Korea, relatively many SMP procedures are known.

The SMP, which is performed at the NHI New Hair Hair Transplant Center, was originally developed for patients with hair loss, but it is a procedure that is gradually gaining popularity as it shows excellent effects on hair loss on the crown of women.

SMP is a method of injecting pigment into the area of hair loss or infrequently to make it look like hair. The microneedles used in SMP are finely adjusted to the angle and depth to which the pigment is injected to prevent the pigment from deteriorating.

This equipment can only be used by medical personnel, and special needles are naturally irregular and elaborate unlike those made with general scalp tattoos.

People who suffer from parietal hair loss sometimes get scalp tattoos at illegally implemented semi-permanent treatment centers due to the stress through the scalp. However, over time, the pigment turns blue or changes in size, causing complaints in many cases. In addition, you cannot use anesthesia during the procedure, so you have to bear all the pain of the needle piercing for the scalp tattoo.

In this regard, Kim Jin-oh, a plastic surgeon at the NHI New Hair Hair Transplant Center, said on the 30th, “In pigment therapy applied directly to the scalp, it is important to know the angle and depth of the needle, and what the pigment is at the stage of injecting. It is almost semi-permanent, so satisfaction is high only when it is possible to maintain its original appearance.”

He added, “SMP can be treated without pain through partial anesthesia, and the microneedles and pigments are injected into the skin stably and naturally without damaging the scalp or surrounding hair follicles, so the satisfaction is high.”

SMP looks slightly reddish as if sunburned immediately after the procedure, but after about two days, all redness disappears. Except for the inconvenience of not being able to shampoo for about two days immediately after the procedure, there is no big problem with daily life, and the effect of covering the scalp immediately can be obtained.

In the case of women, it is advisable to determine the cause of hair loss prior to SMP treatment before undergoing treatment. Temporary hair loss caused by hormones, thyroid gland, or autoimmune diseases can improve after treatment, so it is better to treat the cause first than to promptly SMP, the hospital said.

Director Kim advised, “If you want to perform SMP treatment due to hair loss on the top of the head, it is good to check if the hospital is capable of treatment with both semi-permanent and permanent pigments.”
